Our community‑led First Peoples Advisory Committee strengthens voices, trust and culturally safe healthcare together
First Peoples advisory committee
Elevating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices within Bayside Health has been a long-term aspiration for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community that call the Bass Coast region and greater Gippsland area home.
In the spirit of self-determination, the First Peoples Advisory Committee determine community needs and interests, build trust, raise Indigenous priorities and inform culturally responsive healthcare.
We value the diversity and strength of our people and communities and acknowledge the Bunurong People as the Traditional Custodians, their Elders past and present and the spirit of their ancestors, of the land on which we live, work and learn.
We commit to reconciliation and engaging respectfully with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our community.
