Is there a cost?

The Leongatha UCC is a public service so all Medicare card holders receive treatment at no cost.

We are committed to providing Medical Practitioners from 8:00am - 9:00pm, 7 days per week, where possible. For life threatening or urgent conditions a doctor is available at all times.

How can you access this service?

You do not need a referral to access the UCC.  You can call 03 5667 5555 to let us know you are on your way or walk in off the street.

We cannot provide advice about your care over the phone and cannot provide information about waiting times, as this is dependant upon clinical need.

What to expect?

When you arrive at the Urgent Care Centre, please press the button to let staff know that you have arrived. You will then be welcomed, assessed and triaged by a nurse.

The staff use an urgency system (known as triage) to ensure that the needs of those who are more time critical are seen first.
You may then be asked questions relating to the following:

  • Previous health problems
  • Current medications
  • Recent overseas travel
  • Allergies
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Any other information needed to treat you

Our nurses will assess your condition and will assist you and others to ensure the best decisions are made for you and your health.

For non-urgent medical attention

If medical attention is required for a non-urgent condition, patients are encouraged to contact their GP during business hours. Expert health advice can also be sought 24 hours a day from a registered nurse via the Victorian Nurse-on-Call Service by ringing 1300 60 60 24
