Will I have to pay any fees or charges during my stay?

Bayside Health is part of Australia's public health care system and offers hospital care to any Australian resident under Medicare arrangements.

Other payment requirements depend on your eligibility and circumstances.

Medicare-eligible patients can use private health insurance with no out-of-pocket costs. Overseas visitors from countries without a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement will be treated as Medicare-ineligible and must pay for hospital services. If your visit relates to a transport accident injury, lodge a claim with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) to cover treatment costs. Similarly, if you’re involved in a workplace accident, lodge a claim to access support for hospital expenses.
