A message to children and young people

Bayside Health has a zero tolerance for child abuse and is committed to acting in the best interest of children in our care. We are committed to provide a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.

Support services ready to listen and help

Children, young people and families can access a range of free, confidential community supports for mental health, safety and wellbeing.

From 24/7 crisis lines to online counselling and local services, these organisations offer trusted advice, practical help and someone to talk to when it matters most. Support is available for different ages and needs, helping young people feel safe, heard and connected.

We also welcome feedback from children who have accessed our services.

Children and young people’s rights in healthcare services charter

Bayside Health respects that every child has the right to access health services without any discrimination.

As a subscriber to the Children and Young People’s Rights in Healthcare Services Charter, we endeavour to ensure that every child and young person is heard and supported.

The Commission for Children and Young People has devised the 11 Child Safe Standards that organisations need to implement.

Bayside Health are compliant with the Victorian Child Safe Standards, the Reportable Conduct Scheme and The Children, Youth and Families Act 2022.
