About Kirrak House
Kirrak House is directly behind Wonthaggi Hospital. Our facility provides high quality residential accommodation and services for up to 30 residents.
We offer 22 single rooms and four shared rooms, each accommodating two residents, and all featuring adjacent ensuites for convenience and privacy. A nurse call system is positioned beside every bed to ensure prompt support and peace of mind.
The large, combined lounge and dining room is centrally located for easy access. This welcoming space includes a large screen television for residents’ enjoyment, along with an electronic keyboard. The lounge is also equipped with DVDs and a radio, offering a variety of entertainment options.
At Kirrak House, we offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the evolving needs of our residents, including:
- 24-hour personalised nursing and personal care
- Lifestyle and social activity programs
- Nutritious chef-prepared meals and dining support

Enhancing daily living
The dining area is bright, spacious and welcoming, featuring plenty of room and a piano for concerts and sing-alongs. Comfortable sitting areas are located along each hallway and at the end of the facility, providing residents with quiet spaces to relax, read or enjoy time with visitors.
Our large activities room is well used, hosting a full schedule of engaging programs and events. Stepping out from the activities room leads to a paved BBQ area surrounded by raised vegetable beds and fruit trees, offering residents an inviting outdoor space to enjoy.
The therapy room located opposite the activities room accommodates our in-house physiotherapist who conducts the reablement program.
Residents all have large, picturesque windows at every external aspect of the facility overlooking the gardens. The secure external garden features an all-weather rotunda which is utilised and extends the time residents can spend outdoors. Wi-fi access is available to all residents to support engagement in activities and family-based communication that require internet access.
Personalised support and comfort
Kirrak House is staffed by a team of professional skilled staff dedicated to the care of each individual resident. The team is led by the Nurse Unit Manger and comprises nursing staff, personal care staff, diversional therapists, cleaning and catering staff.
The Kirrak House team is dedicated to recognising and honouring the individuality of each resident. We value and protect resident's self-esteem, privacy, and freedom of choice.
Our philosophy is to support every person to live with dignity and comfort, while empowering them to pursue their own vision of a happy, meaningful and fulfilling life. We also warmly encourage ongoing family involvement and connection.
Costs for Kirrak House
Single Room & Ensuite: Maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is $500,000.00 or maximum daily payment of $104.79.
Single Room & Shared Bathroom: Maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is $500,000.00 or maximum daily payments of $104.79.
Shared Room & Shared Bathroom: Maximum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) is $425,000.00 or maximum daily payments of $89.08.
