Food and Dining

Cafe 1910: Located within the hospital, this cafe serves coffee, tea, cold drinks, and a variety of healthy snacks and meals including wraps, salads, and hot food. It is generally open Monday to Friday.

Vending machines: For after-hours or quick options, vending machines for food and drinks are located near the cafe and adjacent to the Emergency Department.

Visitor lounges: A dedicated lounge is available in the Kodowlinun Ward (Acute Ward) on Level 3, designed to provide a restful space for families outside of the clinical bedside area. In consideration of other patients, please utilise the lounge facility rather than the patient bedside, whenever possible.

Quiet room: A separate private room is available for families needing a space for private discussions with family members and clinical staff.

Visiting Information

Hours: General visiting hours are seven days a week from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Entry Points: Visitors should use the Main Entry for most wards (Pathology, Radiology, Maternity), while the Emergency Department has its own dedicated 24-hour entrance.

Public toilets: Are located in the main foyer of the hospital

Accessibility: The hospital features modern, accessible facilities, including public toilets with baby change tables in the main foyer. Wheelchair access and disability support can be arranged through the Outpatient department.

Accommodation for visitors: If you need to stay nearby there are various types of accommodation suited to overnight and short-term stays. VisitBassCoast website will help you find somewhere to stay in the region.

Mobile phones

In some areas we will ask you to turn off your mobile phone and other devices so they do not interfere with the operation of medical equipment or disturb others.

If you or any of your family members and friends are using mobile phones in the lounge or public areas of the hospital, please have the tone set to silent, and minimise volume of conversations in the interest of unwell patients.

Landline phones: A public telephone is located in the main foyer. Inpatients can also purchase phone cards to use bedside telephones.
