Dietitians help you with nutritional issues, develop meal plans, and guide you, families, groups and communities toward better health through proper dietary choices

What we do

Dietitians treat a range of health conditions. They understand how nutrition affects the body and will give you expert nutrition and dietary advice.

Providing you with personal support to help you improve your health and wellbeing through diet. Using the latest scientific information, dietitians work with you to develop an individual plan to meet your needs.

Our dietetic service provides a range of services to residential aged care consumers, inpatients, community outpatients and home visits by appointment.

What conditions can a dietitian help manage?

  • Diabetes (pre-diabetes, gestational diabetes, type 1 and 2 diabetes)
  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Gastrointestinal diseases (IBS, IBD, Coeliac disease, diverticulitis, reflux)
  • Heart disease (including hypertension, high cholesterol)
  • Malnutrition
  • Weight management
  • Kidney disease
  • Liver disease (including fatty liver, liver cirrhosis)
  • Nutrition deficiencies
  • Enteral nutrition

The dietetic service is committed to excellence and all staff have Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.

Please note: we do not routinely assess paediatric patients. This is determined on an individual basis.

What to bring with you

Every time you come:

  • Medicare card
  • Health Care Card and/or concession card (if you have one)
  • Private health insurance card (if applicable/if you want to use it)
  • Adverse drug alert card (if you have one
  • Previous& X-ray films, scans, ultrasounds or any other test results or reports
  • Medicines you need to take while you are here
  • List of medicines you are currently taking (or the boxes), including medicines you have bought without a prescription, such as herbal supplements and vitamins
  • Glasses, hearing aid(s) and/or walking frame if needed

Bringing these items helps us give you the best care possible and ensures your visit goes smoothly.

For appointments and enquiries. Referrals for outpatient services can be made by Care Providers, GP’s, Carers or by self-referral.
