Dr Trent Hartshorne

Cardiologist

Dr Trent Hartshorne is a heart transplant cardiologist and intensive care physician at The Alfred Hospital, specialising in the management of advanced heart failure and patients requiring mechanical circulatory support.

He graduated from Monash University and has more than 20 years of clinical experience across major hospitals including The Alfred, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, Monash Medical Centre, Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Royal Darwin Hospital, and King’s College London.

Dr Hartshorne has also contributed to healthcare internationally through voluntary work in Fiji and Uganda. He is actively involved in teaching and regularly presents at conferences, contributing to Alfred courses in echocardiography, ECMO, difficult airway management, and mechanical ventilation.

He is committed to collaborative, patient-centred care and supporting patients through complex healthcare systems.
