Nephrologist
Dr Dhaksha Tharmaraj is a dedicated nephrologist with a strong background in both clinical medicine and medical imaging. She completed her medical degree at Monash University in 2012, following earlier success as Dux of her Radiography and Medical Imaging program.
She undertook specialist nephrology training across Monash Health and Eastern Health, achieving Fellowship in 2020, and is completing a PhD focused on kidney transplantation.
Dr Tharmaraj has received national and international recognition for her research, including Young Investigator Awards from TSANZ and TTS in 2024.
She practices at Monash Health, Eastern Health, and Bayside Health Regional - Phillip Island, with clinical interests spanning transplantation, hypertension, dialysis, kidney stones, and imaging in nephrology. She is also actively involved in teaching and mentoring future clinicians.
