Board Member
Prof Mitchell is the Executive Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing & Health Sciences at Monash University having trained as a physician scientist specialising in clinical haematology. She is a medical researcher focussing on intracellular signalling and how this affects human development. Prof Mitchell is an inductee on the Victorian Honour Roll of Women and a recipient of the Lemberg Medal for Biochemistry.
She is a former Alfred Health Board Director, a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and the Australian Academy of Science. She is also Council Chair for Monash Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.
Prof Mitchell is a director for the Hudson Institute and The Sylvia and Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation Medical Advisory Board.
