Bayside Health Regional is a local area public health service caring for the communities of Bass Coast, Cardinia and South Gippsland shires.

Our funding

Bayside Health Regional receives significant funding support from the Commonwealth and State Governments to deliver care to our local health services. 

We also received Government support for the completion of the Phillip Island Community Hospital and Stage One of the Wonthaggi Hospital Re-development

In 2022, the $115 million first stage of the new Wonthaggi Hospital opened, with stages Two and Three to follow with a budget of $290 million.

The first stage of the Phillip Island Community Hospital opened in 2025, featuring an expanded Urgent Care Centre, and radiology and pathology services.

The second stage is now complete with an imminent opening date set for the public to benefit from a raft of new services.

Why we need your support

Bayside Health welcomes and relies on the generous support of local businesses and our community.  As our service grows, so does our need to provide state-of-the-art technology for optimal patient care.

Our service also includes the Phillip Island Community Hospital that provides 24-hour patient care in the Urgent Care Centre, so we must provide the latest technology for this service and the Emergency Department at Wonthaggi Hospital.
