Work Experience at Korumburra or Leongatha
About the program
Our work experience placements offer students a unique opportunity to observe and learn about the daily operations of a health service. Participants gain exposure to a range of areas, including nursing, allied health, administration, and support services. This hands-on experience helps students:
- Understand the variety of roles within healthcare
- Explore career pathways and make informed decisions about their future
- Develop confidence, communication skills, and an appreciation for teamwork
Placement availability
Due to high demand, placements are limited and scheduled as follows:
Mary Mackillop Catholic Regional College – 2 single-week placements per year
Korumburra Secondary College – 2 single-week placements per year
Leongatha Secondary College – 2 single-week placements per year
Chairo Christian School – 2 single-week placements per year
Mirboo North Secondary College – 2 single-week placements per year
Each placement runs for one week, and only one student is accommodated at a time to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
How to Apply
All students must be recommended by their school's Career Coordinator or Work Experience Coordinator. Individual requests without school confirmation will be referred back to the student's school. This process ensures that students are prepared and placements are allocated fairly.
