Peninsula University Hospital opens 20 January

Peninsula University Hospital – formerly known as Frankston Hospital – will open on 20 January.

Minister for Health Infrastructure Melissa Horne and Minister for Mental Health Ingrid Sitt toured the new 12 storey clinical services tower on 12 December, announcing the official opening of the $1.1 billion redevelopment.

In preparation for move day on 20 January, Peninsula Health held a mock move last month. Volunteers played the role of patients, the Hospital Incident Command team was stood up we practiced moving patients in beds and wheelchairs across to the new building. Emergency codes were also tested as part of the rehearsal.

From opening day, the entire campus will officially change its name from Frankston Hospital to Peninsula University Hospital. If you are visiting the campus or referring patients please be aware that there is updated way-finding across the site including changes to the location of the main entrance, parking and gate numbers.
