HOW TO APPLY FOR INTERNSHIP

AT ALFRED HEALTH FOR 2011

 

 

Step 1:   If you can, come along to the Intern Information Session on Friday, 28th May 2010 at the Alfred Hospital and/or the Careers Expo on 5th June 2010 at Melbourne Park (Tennis Centre) for more information and to meet members of our team.

Step 2:  Go to the PMCV Website (computermatching.pmcv.com.au) Read the "How to Guide - Intern Match"  and check your eligibility for the Intern Match.

Carefully review the eligibility requirements for the match particularly if you are a non-Victorian Medical graduate. Determine if you meet the eligibility criteria for participation in the match and if required, check what documentation is needed to support your eligibility to forward to the PMCV to participate in the match. If unsure please contact the PMCV.

Step 3:   Register at the PMCV Website for a username & password so you can participate in the Victorian Computer Match for Interns.

Step 4:  Via the PMCV Website (computermatching.pmcv.com.au) complete and submit your Candidate's Priority Form (Alfred Health as your first choice) and arrange for the submission of two (2) Clinical Referee Assessment Forms online before the due dates as advised.  This should include contacting your nominated referee to ensure they complete the online form by the due dates.
 

Step 5:  Click on the image below and submit the Alfred Health Application form online, together with covering letter, your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and any other documents before the due date.

Before you click the apply now button, please ensure that you have the following ready to upload:

  • CV should include the following information:
    • University degrees;
    • MBBS clinical placements and electives;
    • Research / presentations / publications;
    • Academic history including prizes, awards and (if available) degree grades;
    • Extra curricular activities;
    • Employment history.
  •  Covering letter including:
    • Reasons for applying to Alfred Health;
    • Particular skills and attributes you would bring to the position and how they relate to the skills and attributes of a good intern;
    • Long term professional goals;
    • Can be addressed to the Manager, HMO Support Unit, The Alfred.
  •  Copy of your academic transcript (if available).
  •  Contact details of a non clinical referee (employer or research supervisor, NOT
     Clinical Deans).

Step 6:  Be available for a possible interview during the interview period (Monday 21st June to Thursday 8th July) during the matching process by the HMO Support Unit.
